| 173756 | 2003-09-08 09:16:00 | Dell was and is just as competitive,as are Compaq and H/P,so I think they will keep the rest honest. | Thomas (1820) | ||

All they managed to do was market a product that was cheap and nasty,making more sensible competitors products look expensive.And now after artificialy lowering the price,they have paid the price and gone bankrupt. I for one hope the price of systems do climb again,and i hope the quality follows. Oh btw,Compaq and HP are one company now,and the pc arm of HP has run at a loss for 90 percent of the time,including the last year. |

| 173760 | 2003-09-08 09:47:00 | Know whats its like, My Macrocom computer was choice, high quality, cheap, good service run like a Swiss clock and they went under. I just felt sad for them, not angry because they were cool dudes. It just didnt like a few million volts in a lightening storm. My replacement since then (Cant say incase they sue) is a blue screen of death machine. tedheath |

| 173762 | 2003-09-08 10:24:00 | So what is the history... All I can remember is PC Direct, bought out by Gateway, what happen to Gateway? Macrocom went under, now PC Co are restructuring, for what? What computers are The Warehouse selling now? They use to sell Gateway, are they now? I think last thing I saw was Compaq. When companies get desperate do they rely on The Warehouse? I don't know how well PC Co is going with Farmers, will have to wait and see what happens with the computers Farmers has. |
