173706 2006-06-26 08:28:00 I don't know if this will help but i picked it up off another forum where it did work:-

"I assumed that being setup as 'Computer Administrator' allowed me to do
everything that the actual Administrator could do, but apparently that's not
true . . .

So, I tried this:
From Windows Explorer:
- Right-click on the installation file: Dreamweaver8-en . exe
- Select 'Run As'
- Select Option to Run as 'Following User' and select 'Administrator' + enter
admin password (hopefully you have it)

This allowed the program to install . "

Give it a try JT

173707 2006-09-14 11:27:00 Hi, I am trying to install the Macromedia Dreamweaver 8. But it keeps coming up with the same message everytime I try to install it "The system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation." Could anyone please help me.

Thanks...

173708 2006-09-14 12:10:00 Welcome to PF1 victorian.

What version of windows are you running?
Are you logged in as an administrator type user?
Have you read and tried any of the advice given in this thread and if so what were the results?

173709 2007-03-10 02:46:00 I am also having trouble with this. I have a renamed administrator (sole) account on this thinkpad, and everything is disabled (regkeys and gpcedit), but it still wont install Macromedia Flash 8. I even de-installed Norton (symantec corporate edition), but still no luck! can anyone help? :) xpdied001 (4529)
173710 2007-03-10 04:07:00 I can't help with the problem.
But I suggest you should start by answering the questions in the old post above yours.

It would show members what not to suggest - saving time all around.

This resolved the problem I was having after trying every recommendation under the sun . I listed the steps here:

I hope this helps you and any others avoid the same frustrations I was having . . .
