Well that's certainly more positive to hear... for a second, I wondered if the companies he had previously been involved in had gone under!? Thanks for setting me straight on that one. Lo. |

| 173837 | 2003-09-13 01:23:00 | WELL I GOT MY COMPUTER TODAY! BUT......guess what it's not working!! who would have thought eh??? It was going ok for a while and then when we tried to log off as one user and log on as another it partially loaded the background and no applications came up ie. it froze. We then went alt ctrl del, went to task manager and tried to log off. Then the screen went blank, so pressed the reset button and then the screen said to check the signal cable. We swapped monitors and its not the monitor's problem. I don't know much, but it doesn't even sound like the hard drive is doing anything when we turn it on. The fan starts and that's about it. Windows doesn't load up or anything. Man am I pissed off, all this waiting then I get my hopes up, and just as everyone has said the stupid thing is a nightmare. HELP! Hannah ps. thanks to all of those who have already been giving me helpful advice. I just now am so dissapointed I regret going to the pccompany at all. |

| 173838 | 2003-09-13 01:55:00 | now its time you want to get it under warranty. check the reset button, just in case it got stuck. if the reset button got stuck(sucked in), you need release it for the PC to work. keep us posted. |

| 173839 | 2003-09-13 02:13:00 | Turn it off on the back of the machine (switch on the Power supply), wait 20secs, then turn the thing on again. Turn the monitor on and off a few times as well. The PCco monitors are a real dog, sometimes you have to turn them on a few times, move the mouse, then turn the monitor on again for anything to show up on screen. |

| 173841 | 2003-09-13 04:30:00 | The most likely cause is that they didn't use enough hot glue. :D Something will have vibrated out of its socket in the computer's travel to your house. According to my morning paper, a financial deal is being arranged, with news expected early next week. (And no plans to have a smaller comany under a different name) So there might be a PC Company to honour the guarantee. But you might be able to fix it yourself. I've some idea how you feel Hannah ... all the worry, then it comes, then it stops working. :_| |

Sometimes you just have to let the funny side show through. It shows all the symptoms of somethiing loose or something that evaded the burn in test lke faulty ram or video card. Are you getting any strange beeps at POST (first boot screen)? Cheers Murray P |

| 173844 | 2003-09-15 22:13:00 | well, finally the waiting is over! It's kind of a relief really that they have gone into receivership because now I know that someone will fix my computer . Thank you to everyone who gave me advice and talked me through things, it was really great to have people who know what they are talking about there to help . Hannah |
