| 174131 | 2003-09-09 08:41:00 | Hi Yall Hugh's Back.. Say, someone endeavoured to send me a big file 10 meg which was too big and was only a load of cobblers anyhoo. So I put the restrict receipt to 3megs and that stopped it but... every time I check me mail I get the message. xyz has tried to send you a file of 10mb which was stopped or some thing along those lines. how do I stop getting this message everytime I check me mail team?? keep up the good work, and get off each others backs. | 174132 | 2003-09-09 08:58:00 | The 3 MB restriction was applied where? At your ISP end presumably, as applying it at your end wouldn't be effective. If your ISP is still sending these messages, then its likely that someone is still trying to send large files. Its an automated process from the ISP perspective, so it should not continue unless a file was still being sent. |

| 174134 | 2003-09-09 09:19:00 | As I see it, you have applied a restriction at your end, however your ISP doesn't know that and will continue to send the bigger files? You need to get the larger files bounced by your ISP, or go in via webmail and delete them yourself . An analogy: Its like putting a small slot in your letterbox but only on the side where you remove the mail from . The postie side of the letterbox still has the larger slot, and they keep putting the mail in as per normal . They don't know about your restrictions . It probably works as intended over a company Network I suspect, but perhaps not for dial-up . |
