| 174090 | 2003-09-09 06:42:00 | Just recently, and following nothing that I can recall as unusual, the sorting of folders and file names in Explorer and Outlook Express has defaulted to sorted by date. I can and have changed them to display sorted on ascending name but I cannot seem to get this sort order to be retained as the default. I can reset the order and, say open a new or existing window, return to where I was and hey presto the sort is back to date order. I have ticked and unticked the Remember each folders view settings and reset and clicked the Like Current Folder choices in the dropdown boxes of View but all to no avail - the sort order can only be temporarily changed. Please what am I not doing or doing wrong or ??? I have W98SE updated with whatever Microsoft calls critical updates and I run Internet Explorer 6 with Service Pack 1 and Outlook Express 6. |
