| 173973 | 2003-09-09 00:21:00 | Zoom Player v3.20 Beta 3 Blight just released the latest version of the Zoomplayer. Zoom Player Standard, a flexible feature rich Media Player that for all its features and goodness remains bloat-free. And Zoom Player Professional, which on top of being a great Media Player, incorporates the most powerful DVD Front-End you could imagine (and is even a few features you didn't think of imagining). What´s new in this version: Along with Dimitar Pankov, I've formulated a structure in which Masked Automatic Segment loading works. By specifying a mask string, you can control how additional Media File Segments will be loaded automatically into the Play List. Zoom Player now supports ShoutCast Radio Streaming. You'll need Gabest ShoutCast Filter which can be found here: sourceforge.net Zoom Player now supports Extended MultiMedia control devices such as MultiMedia keyboards and additional buttons on explorer-type mice. I've included a few default commands, but you can expand/modify these, so take a look at "default.key" using a text editor. + The Scene Cut Editor now works on a Millisecond accuracy rather than a Second accuracy. This should provide for a slightly more accurate seeking. and many many more. Dated 2003/09/05. sorry i forgot to include that in the last news post Microsoft Security Bulletin MS03-032 does not work http-equiv (lists.netsys.com) reports that MS03-032: (support.microsoft.com) August 2003 Cumulative Patch for Internet Explorer does not work. eEye Digital Security has discovered a security vulnerability in Microsoft's Internet Explorer that would allow executable code to run automatically upon rendering malicious HTML. This is a flaw in Microsoft's primary contribution to HTML, the Object tag, which is used to embed basically all ActiveX into HTML pages. The parameter that specifies the remote location of data for objects is not checked to validate the nature of the file being loaded, and therefore trojan executables may be run from within a webpage as silently and as easily as Internet Explorer parses image files or any other "safe" HTML content. Microsoft is allready informed, a new patch is not available yet. Get more informations about the topic by clicking the above shown link. OpenOffice.org 1.1 RC4 Released OpenOffice.org (www.openoffice.org) released the 4th Release Candidate of their open source office suite. If you're used to using other office suites - such as Microsoft Office - you'll be completely at home with OpenOffice.org 1.1. However, as you become used to OpenOffice.org 1.1, you'll start to appreciate the extras that make your life easier. You can of course continue to use your old Microsoft Office files without any problems - and if you need to exchange files with people still using Microsoft Office, that's no problem either. And best of all, the software is free ! GIMP 1.3.20 Released GIMP is an acronym for GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed piece of software suitable for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. It is an extremely capable piece of software with many capabilities. It can be used as a simple paint program, a expert quality photo retouching program, an online batch processing system, a mass production image renderer, a image format converter, etc. GIMP is extremely expandedable and extensible. It is designed to be augmented with plugins and extensions to do just about anything. The advanced scripting interface allows everything from the simplest task to the most complex image manipulation procedures to be easily scripted. What's New? Just in time for the start of the GIMP Bug Week, there's a new development version available from one of the mirrors. This release features a lot of bug-fixes as well a number of improvements over 1.3.19. Definitely worth an update, especially if you want to participate on the bug week. | 173975 | 2003-09-10 12:51:00 | Hi tweak'e I seem to spend less time here than I used to because of other commitments, but always look for your updates. Can be a hassle sometimes trying to find them, so was thinking: Can I add my email address to your database for automatic notification? bit like a newsletter. Cheers. PS. It looks as though your spelling has improved. :-) |
