174142 2003-09-09 08:55:00 Can i plug in any LCD/TFT monitor to my computer? - or will I need drivers to get it to work? Are there any compatability issues? ie with NT4.
regards Don

I have a Philips Brilliance 150P3 with dual input standard VGA and DVI.
Nice to use and easy on the eyes.

174144 2003-09-09 09:25:00 The main thing to watch is that you set the refresh rate before you connect the monitor.

LCDs do not "refresh" as such, (hence they are easy on the eyes) but normally will only accept a 60 Hz or so refresh setting, refusing to display anything above that.

So if your video output is above that, you will just see a message that its set to the wrong rate, and you will not be able to set the correct rate as you cannot see any image to allow you to correct it.

Apart from that setup requirement, they are very good monitors.
I use both DVI and VGA inputs, while DVI is slightly better, the standard VGA (analogue) on LCD (TFT) is far better than most CRTs display anyway.
