1346763 2013-06-24 05:10:00 I am still using Microsoft XP on my PC. I usually hibernate the system at the end of daily use as XP takes so long to
load from start up - about 2 minutes. I have pruned the start-up programs to the bare minimum. Is hibernation a bad
way to close a session? A full close down is completed about once a week on average.

In fact, Windows 8 "sort of" hibernates by default.

1346765 2013-06-24 05:16:00 Thanks for that. It's good to know I am doing something right!! Robnhd (16012)
1346766 2013-06-24 11:47:00 I can't understand why people shutdown, myself. Like you say, why suffer boot up delay when you don't have to. I sleep my machines but hibernation is good too. linw (53)
1346767 2013-06-26 14:43:00 I have used Hibernate on XP for years. No problems, it seems to me, the way XP works best. Vince (406)
