Now, about those statistics? Here's Counties - Manukau for you to draw your own conclusions from. HERE (wdmzpub01.stats.govt.nz 20for%20the%20latest%20Fiscal%20Years%20%28ANZSOC% 29) Basically crime has been on the decrease for the last 4 years. In common with all districts, the largest number of offences are breaking and entering and theft and those also account for the highest number of unresolved crime. :) |

| 1321875 | 2013-01-10 07:04:00 | Ummm 46,000 total (2011 / 2012) is higher than 42,000 total (1994 / 1995) That means crime has increased in the last 8 years overall? |

I've been quoting figures from 2007 on (check my posts), so more recent - and appropriate - data. Reflecting the more recent tactical changes in police deployment. |

| 1321879 | 2013-01-10 07:52:00 | Exactly, crime was high in those areas so they've deployed more police, I'm glad you agree. | Chilling_Silence (9) | ||
| 1321880 | 2013-01-10 07:59:00 | Exactly, crime was high in those areas so they've deployed more police, I'm glad you agree. Ummm, didn't I say exactly that a few posts back - #51? There's more police manpower poured into South Auckland for example, than the more affluent Eastern suburbs or North Shore. I have no idea what the ratio is, but it stands to reason that there's more chance of offenders being brought to justice in South Auckland than elsewhere. And because the area houses more Maori, then that becomes a major factor in the disproportionality. |

| 1321881 | 2013-01-10 08:32:00 | Yes but you see the poor Maori statistics as a casualty of the police moving in because of the Crime. I see the police moving in because of the poor Crime statistics caused by Maori. The police didn't show up there one day because they had nothing better to do with their time... They showed up because of high crime, caused by the residents of the area, who are disproportionately Maori. There is no two ways to dice this. |

There's more police manpower poured into South Auckland for example, than the more affluent Eastern suburbs or North Shore.
