1322101 2013-01-11 00:10:00 It's not the falling that's the problem, it's the sudden collision with the ground at high speed that's the real issue ;)

Why does it have to be the ground? There's an awful lot of ocean out there :)

Full of large creatures with big sharp teeth, I believe. :nerd:

The Hornby police station down here has a ghost. Must be pretty scary if it freaks out the cops (www.stuff.co.nz). :p

Not quite, if you hit the water fast enough it is like hitting a brick wall, only harder.

Has nobody here ever whacked the sea or other flat water with the palm of their hand? I can tell you that it can hurt, so if you fall from an aircraft and reach terminal velocity, unless, perhaps, you hit feet-first with your toes pointing down, you are going to come apart at the seams big time.

The last thing to go through your mind as you hit will be your toenails!

Cheers

1322108 2013-01-11 21:11:00 OMG, that is an awful lot of souls to have made if there is no reincarnation.

I never cease to be astounded at the minds ability to believe anything that is thrown at it.
We have a muslim do da on TV here, that insists that it is a peaceful religion, while at the same time they are knocking themselves off like they are going out of fashion in the likes of Iraq

1322109 2013-01-12 03:39:00 I don't believe in reincarnation at all, nor do I believe in God or any other greater power. As far as I'm concerned, if people want to believe in a greater power thats fine, but don't try and shove your beliefs on me. The ones that a really bad are the Jehovah's Witnesses that come and knock on your door and expect you to listen. Last time they did that I told them to **** off. QW. (15883)

Now that you mention it, the door knockers seem to have faded into the backgound in recent years, we haven't had a JW or Mormon visitation for several years now, which is a shame really. I used to refer them to a bloke down the street as needing their guidance more that I did :devil so perhaps he 'encouraged' them to stay away for a decade or two. :horrified

One of my best friends was a JW, but I didn't know until after he passed away. If religion has any place at all in today's society, that is how it should be.
