1346861 2013-06-26 07:39:00 Can't re-edit.

But this email is only a representative sample, I have had my own emails not arrive on time and other emails are also held up.

1346862 2013-06-26 09:11:00 I removed all email addresses from the above would that account for the unroutable stuff?
No. The HELO string that the MA server identifies itself with is required to have a corresponding A record in publicly available DNS.
It doesn't.
This can cause email originating from that server to be rejected (or delayed) depending on the policy of the receiving server.
Your server passes basic SMTP diagnostic tests and appears to be operating correctly (although it is listed on SORBS as a spam source, but that would only effect your outgoing mail).

Check those same received headers for other delayed mail. If the delay is always between the last foreign relay and your server then that really points to an issue on your server. Edit: although, a LOT of supposedly reputable mail sources play fast and loose with the rules (grrr) and if your server is set up to be fairly strict about enforcing compliance with the relevant RFCs (as it should) there could be some issues. The real answer is for the senders to fix their systems....

The logs required will only be available to the server admin so you might have to get him/her to look into it further.

I have not received the daily email today and I have the logging turned on as you advised so when that email arrives I will post the log here.
Can you tell me how to retrieve that log please?
The outlook log location is listed in the previous link, but you could probably turn that off again as it won't show anything more than your outlook getting the available mail from your server (which doesn't seem to be where the problem is).

1346863 2013-06-26 11:56:00 So bottom line.
Is changing my host likely to solve the issue?

1346864 2013-06-26 14:26:00 Mighty Ape have complained that their email provider is responsible for the delays. They are not happy about it.:(

Once again I am having trouble with my email and its annoying me.
The server is holding up certain emails and I am not receiving them, case in point the daily sale emails from mighty ape, as you can imagine receiving those a week late is fairly pointless.

Long story short (too late) I need a new mail server.
I am NOT interested in a google server as I want someone to set this up to my specifications and for the system to be completely hands off for me.

I have several email addresses that are active and I need a catchall on my domain.

Any suggestions?
Prefer to deal with someone I know/know of, rather than be referred to a company.

1346865 2013-06-26 21:39:00 But for me its not just MightyApe emails that are an issue......
Damn, not sure what the best course of action is now.

Maybe not - not enough evidence to go on.
Seems mightyape is a known issue, but I suggest checking the others as well.
If they are all delayed substantially on the last hop to your server then possibly yes.
Although it could also be external to the server, like some funky DNS problem that you would take with you to any new host when you moved your addresses.

1346867 2013-06-27 06:05:00 The fact that the server is a spam host is enough reason to ditch it anyway.
Thanks for the advice Fred and others :)

I wouldn't go so far as to call it a "fact".
SORBS is the only one of ~60 queried (and not a very reliable one at that).
It could also easily be some other server that triggered the listing if it is a shared host.

1346869 2013-06-27 09:57:00 I sent a email to a Slingshot address tonight and it the server refused it as a untrusted sender.

SMTP error from remote mail server after initial connection:
host mxi1.callplus.net.nz [IP]: 554-mx1.tranzpeer.net
554 Your access to this mail system has been rejected due to the sending MTA's poor reputation. If you believe that this failure is in error, please contact the intended recipient via alternate means.

1346870 2013-06-27 10:01:00 Well, whether it is the fault of your server or not, it is clearly having an effect on your email experience ... ;) fred_fish (15241)
