1476844 2021-04-29 21:26:00 Easy. Go on their website...look up the modem settings and then go into modem 192.168.1.254 I thnk from memory...and then change them all.
I did that, using ex Spark modem, with Voyager. Voyager is a bit different, had to do landline as well on it....most landlines use the ONT not modem, but not Voyager.

I also saved and backed it up so I don't have to do it over in case of factory reset....

Thats a wireless internet modem

You may not be able to use it with Slingshots wireless internet .
Why didnt you get a router when you joined up with slingshot.

is the slingshot internet fibre, wireless, vdsl, adsl
have you signed up for Slingshot, why didnt you use their router ?

1476846 2021-04-29 22:54:00 Thanks everyone for your comments. More info.

Up to yesterday I have been using slingshot for 15 years approx. TP-Link modem TD-W8960N
No problems very good. As well as having the copper landline.
Spark then sent unasked a new Huewei 618 modem to make my landline wireless, together with some new phones that hook into the modem.
Installed the modem and got the phones to work ok, but not the internet connection with Slingshot. How do I get the Slingshot to connect ?
or If I disconnect the Huawei modem from Spark and go back to my TP link modem (some years old) the internet works like it should (I am using this connection with this post)
but now my telephone copper landline will not work!!
So I am stuck with 2 options and both only offer telphone or internet, not both. That is spark modem or old copper landline.

How do I get Spark to put me back to copper landline. That is back to the old normal again. Have rung Spark but it sends my brain into confusion.
Thankyou

1476848 2021-04-30 03:26:00 What I would do
get your internet and phone (landline) from the same company . Then it will all work together
Spark can supply wireless internet through that modem, you'll need to sign up for it.

At a best guess , assuming your copper connection is still active ...
It sounds like its just the way you are connecting things up
To get the slingshot modem to work, it must stay plugged into the wall , into the copper phone line . DONT plug sparks new phone system into the copper connections

worst option
dump spark & find a supplier who will give you old school copper phone lies.

1476849 2021-04-30 03:28:00 You are going to have the issue where the help desks arnt going to help or care about another companies ph/internet setup or conflicts .

So it may be a painfull experience to get this sorted .

1476850 2021-04-30 04:52:00 Those internet Modems are meant to connect via Wireless, so you would an account with Slingshot that is 4G Capable. You can connect to an ONT as well I suspect.

I know the Spark ones are simply plug in the power, give them a few minutes to sync and away they go. The last one I had to install, Spark had to check the 4G was good enough in the area - it was.

Looking at The same Unit setting up to Skinny would be similar (NOTE what is written for # 10) support.skinny.co.nz

Edited: Sparks Setup has quite more details. So what ever they say for Spark, change to Slingshot. www.spark.co.nz
