1471924 2020-09-27 08:21:00 Hi all,
I took a few videos on my iPhone this weekend and, being in a hurry to capture the scene, did not zoom in sufficiently in a couple of them so the subject is too far in the background. It looks like there are a number of programs available that will crop videos but I don't know if they will do the job, ie do they crop the entire video in one hit or can parts be cropped and parts be left as is? Has anyone done this before? The videos are in MOV format and I'm using Windows 8.1.
Thanks.

1471925 2020-09-27 09:14:00 In cases like that in the past I have zoomed the movie or a picture and then recapture the zoomed area. You may lose a little bit in quality depending on how good the original is.

There are several programs that you can use. Did you want audio as well ?

1471927 2020-09-27 20:31:00 This video editor can trim and it is free, I've used it but not had to edit size so not sure how you will find it:

www.shotcut.org

Available in 32 or 64 bit versions.

1471929 2020-09-28 03:11:00 You may be able to do this on your iPhone? I have had a play and seems like it's possible. I'm using IOS13.7. Be careful, may alter the original video.
Try the edit function when the video is selected, then there should (may) be a crop function (looks like a square with 2 dotted arrows
around it - bottom right corner). I could zoom in on the original video with this, move it around, etc. Can also trim video from either (or both) ends.
Have a play.... (backup your videos first)
