Hi does anyone know why I have big black borders in Halflife and IL2 Sturmovik? They surround the screen along both the horizontal and vertical edges and changing resolution doesn't affect them. Its only happened since I upgraded to Windows XP and other games such as Warcraft 3 and Rise of Nations dont have this problem. |

do you run the games at different res to your destop? you may need to adjust your screen to suit the pic at the lower res. also do you have the monitors driver installed? |

Yes I do run the games at a different res usually but changing it to the same as the desktop doesn't fix it. As for a monitor driver I can't find one for my particular monitor ( its some obscure Likom model I got in a PC Co. package ). |

It might also be running it at a lower refresh rate than the normal desktop.
You can check the refresh rate in the monitors OSD. |

just a thought, what are you running halflife in, openGL or directX ?? |
