174586 2003-09-11 09:44:00 For the last two days I have had a email from Microsoft, with an attachment that I have deleted, not opened. Is this another virus, or is it for real. I am asking here cos I am too lazy to go fighting my way around the symantec site. TIA ;-) supergran (108)
174587 2003-09-11 09:48:00 Any email from Microsoft with an attachment is a virus.

They will never send attachments with their emails for security reasons.

Yep you are correct there :)

Note: Microsoft does NOT send attachment's the virus is using the MS address so it seems it is coming from them but it is not

Hope this helps

174591 2003-09-12 09:35:00 Thanks everyone, I was pretty sure Microsoft and Nortons don't send out mail with attachments, but thought I would check. I had enough of a job last week with a friends puter, as I cleaned it of the blaster virus, it makes me more careful with mine. LOL:-) supergran (108)
