174686 2003-09-16 11:54:00 Thank you Kiwibeat........ I have just turned off restore and the computer is going a lot faster and more stable. I don't quite follow how to go to or what is 98Se. Also which Me functions do you suggest I uninstall and do without?

Thanks a lot.

174687 2003-09-16 22:17:00 Just a thought Jaunty, do you have SpyBot Se (its on the latest PC World CD). If so, give it a run to see what it comes up with. Some peripherals have drivers/software that like to ph home for updates. SpyBot might come up with a log file that will tell you if the mouse has updated lately also that log might have ballooned in size.

174690 2003-09-17 00:02:00 Thank you for all the help . Since disabling "Restore" & restarting last night the problem seems to have vanished . Yippe . . . . . So take a bow kiwibeat . . . . the top technicans in PC Computers in Hamilton and several local Computer Whizzes around Levin and Palmerston North had no idea what to do . !!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to all you people .
