| 174860 | 2003-09-13 02:36:00 | www.maximumpc.com offers the best 'nobullshit' articles about part selection, but not the best web site. www.pcpowerplay.com.au has an excellent atricle called the Beast. Buy this mag, with the DVD edition, as it has a excellent amount of apps on it. HIghly reccommended. Look at what they would spend their money on. Everything from $1700 to $24000 for complete system at one point. It got a little silly..... If you run into trouble with these, I'm sure I could find them and forward the articles on. Good luck! Also, tell us: your budget, wants and needs (the computer, not life in general, unless you really feel the need...) |

I think they are not very competitve now - lot more expensive than others. Ascent has high ratings but not the best prices. Don't go with HotChips, or QMB - they either don't respond to emails or are rude. Above all pricespy is your tool :) |

| 174862 | 2003-09-13 02:38:00 | Sorry that should read: I found the person at HotChips rude and intolerant, and when I tried to buy something from QMB there was no response to my questions. |

| 174863 | 2003-09-13 02:56:00 | I have found QMB to be very good via email, and even better in-person :-) Im surprised nobody has said "http://www.pricespy.co.nz" yet!?! ..or did I miss that while skimming over the posts? ;-) |

| 174864 | 2003-09-13 03:14:00 | Qmb stated over the phone they would replace my stick of ram, then they lost it for 3 weeks, then decided the stick was fine,Even though it crashed every puter it was put into and failed numerous ram testers(thats my results),They also refused to tell me what means they were using to test it,So i was refused a replacement and told if i wanted the defective stick of ram returned to me that i would have to pay postage. Bad bad bad service, they went back on there initial promise and lost my ram for 3 weeks. Needless to say i refused to pay the postage for a defective stick of ram and i was never sent it or a replacement.I have since that time refused to pass any business there way or recomend them...which was something i was prone to do before. |

HIghly reccommended. Yea the beast is great, but the problem I find is that by the time we get it, the dam things already out of date. :| |
