| 175245 | 2003-09-14 12:35:00 | Thanks for all the replies, really amazing, thanks everyone. Just to update a bit. I have been running the TV though a VCR ( that does play NTSC tapes) all along . The sound is perfect , but picture rolls both playing tapes and with TV (although I haven't got any NTSC tapes ). There is color with the rolling picture although it is a bit washed out There is no virtical hold adjustment on the TV so that is not an option. One funny thing is , the unit has picture in picture function and while a menu is being displayed the picture goes to the smaller fame and is not rolling at all, but seems to be in black and white. I will look into converters as this maybe my only option I guess Once again thanks for all the help Pete |

| 175246 | 2003-09-17 03:07:00 | Hmmmmm......... If you have sound and colour this could be a multi-system TV. A lot of modern (expensive) equipment is multi-system so it wouldn't surprise me. Although you cannot see a user-adjustable vertical hold (frequency) control, it doesn't mean that there isn't one inside somewhere. Was this TV in use in NZ or is it an immigrant's import that they have dumped because they couldn't get it to work? I'd get the model number and Google it. You may find the info you need, or at least a spec to tell you what it can and can't do.. Otherwise I'd contact the local agent for the brand, or even call a service company experienced in projection TVs. The reason why the PiP doesn't roll is that that is a digitally reconstructed image and is locked to the display frequency. Cheers Billy 8-{) |
