| 175101 | 2003-09-14 20:41:00 | Hi ferrite, if your computer has a built in ethernet port, that is for connecting to a network (which includes a external dsl router-modem -> internet). The info on that site is geared towards the problems of MSN when using a router, I dont know if the same problems exist with dial-up. I get the impression at times that Microsoft are hardly aware that adsl/routers etc are in existence and widely used. Their software isnt written to to be friendly with them. Eg. I cant get video/audio with msn 6 or Netmeeting with a router and Win98SE, yet Yahoo Messenger does work ok. So if Yahoo can write software to work with no problems with a router why can't giant Microsoft?????? |
