175044 2003-09-13 23:29:00 I have two hard drives. C drive has Windows 98SE on it. I have never been really sure what to do with D drive.

Will D drive do anything without a operating system on it?

How do I get Windows XP on the D drive? Do you reboot with the XP disc in the CD rom and will the program instructions ask me where XP is to go?

From previous posts XP will then program the computer to ask you which drive/system you want to use when you start up the computer.

175045 2003-09-13 23:38:00 Absolutely right. Start the XP setup but on the Advanced screen tick the box which which says "Let me choose where to locate XP" or words to that effect. As install proceeds it will show you your disks and available space. Just choose the one you want. You will then get a choice of which OS to boot to at startup. I have had 98 on C for ages and XP has been on D,E,F and G at various times ! I recommend keeping 98. There are just those occasions when XP won't let you do something and can then boot to 98 and raise the digit to XP !
