| 175656 | 2003-09-16 04:15:00 | I have a laptop which is not recording the keystrokes _R, N & B_ when the respective keypads are struck. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this is happening. It started about two days ago and unfortunately is on a laptop which originated from the now defunct "PC Company" . The laptop is only about 4 months old and still "under warranty" but I think I might be up a creek without a paddle in that respect. |

| 175657 | 2003-09-16 05:30:00 | That problem would normally mean one of 2 things, 1st off it could be the cable that is connected to the motherboard of the laptop. Just try removing the keyboard and attempt to reseat it if you can. Or finally it could mean some sort of liquid has been dropped onto the keyboard, normally this would mean that the keyboard would need to be replaced in these cases I'm afraid. Hope this helps |

| 175659 | 2003-09-17 05:27:00 | Before you start poking around inside the very fragile innards of a laptop, why not try going through CMANZ (http://cmanz.co.nz/) to get warranty service. They set up this organisation to handle the problems which occur. If you don't know exactly what you are doing, you can do a lot of damage to a laptop. |

It is a Predigy model and it was bought through Farmers who suggested their "Totalguard" warranty which is is for five years. This was taken out so I'm now going to claim against it - they may have to replace it with another brand. |

| 175665 | 2003-09-18 21:47:00 | No too bad. Quite heavy machines, bummer only USB1.1 though. Have had two machines both with motherboard replacements so far. But (at the time of purchase) good value for money. My feeling is that they've certainly brought the brand name laptops (eg Dell, HP Compaq) down in price to an excellent level. |
