I saw a repair man out side my house fixing a big green metal box out side between me and my neighbour?s house. Hope I?m living right next the telephone exchange :D.

175444 2003-09-15 08:30:00 Mmmm , small green boxes are usually power connections. Or green cabinets can be cable termination boxes, where the multi-paired cable comes out of the ground to be distributed elsewhere.
They haven't got them that small that the fit in a cabinet beside the road yet. They are still inside Telecom buildings.

175445 2003-09-15 08:46:00 MUX boxes, PCM boxes can be "small green cabinets" They are not Exchanges (think airconditioning, backup power supplies for exchanges, hard to fit in a green box)

If you are really unlucky they have installed a 0+2 pair gaining system. That will limit your connect speed to around 28 kb/s.

I think they would use a "green box" for this equipment...

175450 2003-09-15 10:53:00 Are you positive the box wasn't blue? Might of been a TARDIS (www.drwhoguide.com). Jen C (20)
