2003-09-15 05:12:00 It's a matter of record MS officially drooped support for Windows 98 on June 30, 2003. That doesn't mean there won't be patches at the site I showed. Just don't expect updates via the auto update. In saying that there a great third party support sites on the internet. mark.p (383)
2003-09-15 05:15:00 Mark, I am getting more confused now. Perhaps I should have also said before I got that long message from the Windows update site I got this one "Your current settings prohibit running Active X controls on this page. As a result, the page may not display properly." I clicked OK and got the long message as outlined in my first post in this thread. None of those options mention Windows 98. Mark, is that what you are referring to? Oxie (1318)
2003-09-15 05:17:00 Mark, I was getting the updates from the auto update site today. It said I got all but two of them. After rebooting I tried to go back into Windows Update and that is when I started getting the message above. :(

2003-09-15 05:44:00 Lyn has it occured to you yet that there is'nt any more Windows 98 updates available just W2K up? mark.p (383)
2003-09-15 05:54:00 Mark,

No it hadn't because when I was installing the 17 or so updates at the end it said that two were not installed successfully. I managed to see that one was 330994, but never saw what the other was before the computer rebooted. Hence my reason for going back into Windows Update to be scanned. It could not proceed because of the error message "Your current settings prohibit running Active X controls on this page. As a result, the page may not display properly, etc. Obviously one of the downloads caused this. Perhaps it was intentional so that I cannot use the Windows Update page again for Window 98. Who knows?
