176245 2003-09-18 10:14:00 Hi all. I am using Outlook Express (the one that comes with Windows XP Pro) and when ever I open it (to check my Hotmail account) it opens up Windows Messenger but I use MSN Messenger (version 6.1 beta) and do not want it to open. I went into the options and tell it not to sign me in automatically but there is no option to stop it opening Windows Messenger. How do I stop this inoying problem? JamesStewart (874)

176247 2003-09-18 10:33:00 Won't that give me an error when opening Outlook Express??? JamesStewart (874)
176248 2003-09-18 10:43:00 Now when I go to open Outlook it takes like two minutes to "load" even though the CPU isn't doing anything nor the hard drive. JamesStewart (874)

I do not think that would happen, because outlook would see that you have MSN & use it.

I might be wrong, try it & see what happens.

176250 2003-09-19 20:59:00 This was suggested to me by another brilliant mind from this forum, although it was Win 2000, but it worked for me. Go into explore, programmes, then re-name the MSN folder, then Outlook Express can't find it. Worked a treat for me. Tony S. (450)
