176568 2003-09-20 05:25:00 Hi ya all,
I want to do a boot optimization from the windows command prompt, but I dont know what to type in the run window, or how it works. Does anyone know abiout this?

176569 2003-09-20 06:00:00 That doesnt sound quite right. Boot optimisation would normally be carried out by changing the parameters in the CMOS set up. By the time windows has loaded the boot process is over.

Here are 2 sites from Google that talk about boot optimisation. The second one is a program for optimising XP.

site 1 (www.adriansrojakpot.com)

site 2 (www.exodus-dev.com)

Sometimes the word boot is used when what is really meant is loading a program. Boot refers to hardwired code to enable a computer to start up, ie pull itself up by its boot straps.

It would appear to be less than overwhelming in effect?

It gives you the switches for defrag, and a link to BootVis
