| 176543 | 2003-09-20 06:27:00 | those codecs are handeld by software created by Sony for Mini Disc players, why would u want to cnvert to those formats cos the maximum quality is 132kb, on Atrac 3, plus is in VBR at 48kb, so why do u want to convert them? | 176544 | 2003-09-21 00:13:00 | u see my cd writer is DEjn1.Supports atract plus and mp3 playback.CAme with a software and yes the program automatically converts before ripping to a cd. But since it takes like 3 minutes for each song to be converted from any format to atrac3 plus format.I want to manually convert them.As in If i use a program and convert each one when i have time and then just copied them to a cd just by dragging the atrac 3.It would be faster than waiting for each song to be converted by the program then copied on a cd. understand? |

| 176545 | 2003-09-21 05:37:00 | Ahh i think i should explain it a bit better My cd writer does not support the sonic stage simple burner program.Even if it does the program would convert the mp3s and audio to atracplus format.One track will take about 3 minutes to convert. I was wondering if there are any programs out there that i can download.So that i can use that program to convert it.Then once i have made my collection.I can use a program like nero and just drag aon drop and burn to the cdrw |

| 176546 | 2003-09-21 06:49:00 | Still why Atrac? its a loss in quality, if u read the above post the maximum is 132kb, not very good, best is around 160kb, now it beats me why u want to use that format, just stick with the normal mp3 compression, and as for converting mp3 to atrac it takes my comp only 15seconds, wot r u on about the 3mintutes? | 176548 | 2003-09-22 08:25:00 | ur probably rite bout the speed issue (cos i got p4 2.66 Gh, 512mb :D) nyways as i said atrac is good if u want to keep quality slightly better than normal mp3 (128kb) but it doesnt sound that good, the best i reckon is 160kb and this cannot be achieved through the atrac format, so u can use it but the quality will just "satisfy" its purpose instead of providing exceptional quality. If was u, just stick with 160kb normal mp3 encoding and use Lame or monkey's lossless codecs to keeps their file sizes low or even riff-wav them to keep them in small sizes instead of using Atrac cos this complicates things and some rippers can't read them when ripping back onto pc. |
