176770 2003-09-21 09:18:00 CDRW's shouldn't be used for permanent copying of files. You SHOULD use CDR's.

And unless the CDRW has been finalised, nothing else will read it, including normal CD's, or DVD's. What's on the CDRW? music. data, or I take it a DVD movie/VCD?

176775 2003-09-23 04:31:00 Probably not. :D

It may be that your DVD drive needs more contrast between the "on" bits and 'off" bits whan you get with disks written by that writer on that make of disk. All twritable disks are way outside the contrast specified in the standards, which assume that the optical disks will be pressed and have an aluminium reflective layer. Dyes modified by a laser beam don't (can't) have anything like the contrast. Manufacturers do their best to read them, but there are a lot of variables.

You could try recording at a lower speed, or perhaps a higher (or lower) laser power if that's adjustable.

176776 2003-09-24 01:38:00 there is some software that comes with incd that enables normal cd drives read rw.
Don't ask me where to get it.
