| 177240 | 2003-09-23 02:55:00 | Hi All, I am having problems with C&C: Generals World Editor. What is happening is it take along time load up and runs very slow (uses 100% CPU) I have reformatted, installed extra memory to 1 Gig even tried 1.5 Gig also changed CPU, changed directories where Generals can be installed and upgraded my Motherboard. I am going to try a FSB 800 CPU and try another OS other than XP for starters. Could anybody shed some light on this matter???? Looking forward to anyones ideas Regards Buster |

I cannot get Red Alert to even install on my Win XP PC without going to far more trouble than it is worth, but that game is quite an oldie . Have you had a look for any updates/patches? Can't offer any more advice but hopefully the games experts here may be able to help . |

| 177245 | 2003-09-23 11:49:00 | I think it utilises(controls) all the CPU, like Battlefield 42 uses 100% CPU as soon as it starts till its closed. | Scotty D (491) | ||
| 177246 | 2003-09-23 22:02:00 | Yes i have the latest patches 1.6 is the last one that has come out. I installed it on Windows 2000 and that works fine so i believe it is Obviously its something to do with Windows XP but no sure what it is :-( Thank you to you all who have tried to help me on this :-) Apparently the expansion has another world builder so maybe that will work???? one way to find out Once again thank you |

Try disabling everything you have running then fire the game up and see if it loads quicker and works properly . If it does, enable one thing that you previously disabled at a time until the problem reoccurs and identify what caused it . If the problem is still there after disabling everything you may have to start looking at your hardware vs Win XP again . Keep us informed, I am sure most of the gamers have missed this thread so far . :D |
