| 177097 | 2003-09-22 10:47:00 | Hello, I'm having a problem with copying cds. I have an original DVD which when put into the DVD rom won't show any files but only the size of the cd. I tried using Nero - a burning program, to try and copy the DVD directly onto a CD-R but it didn't work. I would like to know how I could copy the DVD. Regards Michael |

| 177098 | 2003-09-22 11:15:00 | First question, do you have a DVD burner, or just a CD burner? CD burners won't burn DVD copies. A CD holds about 700 MB of data, a DVD about 4,700 MB (4.7 GB). One will not fit on the other. |

| 177099 | 2003-09-22 11:39:00 | Head along to afterdawn.com and read up on one of the dvd->divx guides. You will need a program called DvdDecrypter or SmartRipper to copy a dvd. If you are backing up your own dvd its probably ok, but I don't think decrypting dvds is legal. | kiki (762) | ||
