| 177404 | 2003-09-23 21:42:00 | Having just formatted my computer, I am trying to do updates. When I go to Windows Updates and scan for updates, it gets to 100% complete and then says it has encountered an error and cannot display the requested page. I'm using XP. Thanks. | novice (4614) | ||

The 'Windows Update Home Page' and the other 2 below it are links. When I click the Home Page link it just opens another page the same as the one I'm already on, and it gives the same result. At the advise of someone else I went into Internet Options etc and removed the object Udate Class, restarted and tried again. This made no difference, and I was not prompted to download anything. |

| 177412 | 2003-09-24 00:06:00 | Try log in as Administrator and click Windows Update . I also encounter Windows Update problem when I press Shift + right-clicked IE and 'run as' Administrator which I used to do previously but now it doesn't work . I then log off and log in again as Administrator and updated my Windows successfully just now . Give it a go . Good luck |
