177398 2003-09-23 21:32:00 I have noticed over the last week or so that some of our emails that we have been receiving at work have the word

SPAM::

at the start of the subject line.

Does anybody know where this is coming from? or who is inserting it in there?

The reason I ask is because some of the emails with this in them are not spam!! and I know that the sender is not putting it in.

We use FTGate as our mail server, and have done for the last 5 years, and I administer it and have not made any changes to FTGate, so I know it's not that.

Our ISP is ihug and they say they aren't doing it.

Is anybody else getting SPAM:: as well?

177399 2003-09-23 23:59:00 Sounds like an ISP or some form of spam protector that you may be running. Puts it in there so that you can filter it off. -=JM=- (16)
177400 2003-09-24 00:33:00 Not running any spam protector at work so must be one of the ISPs putting it in.

Funny thing is though one of the emails that had it was an invoice from one of our suppliers so definitely not spam!

177402 2003-09-24 02:40:00 An invoice not "unsolicited commercial content"? Do you want to pay for things? :D Graham L (2)
177403 2003-09-24 02:55:00 hehe :^O

I haven't told ihug to put the spam blocker on our emails.
I think you have to pay for it anyway! and we aren't! :)
