177453 2009-02-10 16:28:00 feast ur eyes...

intel Q9550 Quadcore processor
nvidia nforce 790i motherboard
7GB DDR3 RAM
two GeForce 9800GX2 in SLI
Sony Full HD 19" wide screen monitor

These r the hardware config of my dream machine...

I don't know if I can ever get my hands on a config like this...

I didn't include intel i7 965 because it's motherboard may not support the graphics cards I mentioned.

By the way, did u guys come to know about the personal supercomputer Tesla by nvidia? It's 250 times faster than a normal pc and has 960 processing cores. it cost around 9995$ (4.5 lakh rupees). Well anyway I see a bright future ahead for pc. Remember until now supercomputers needed an entire room to occupy, and now it can fit on the desk.

177454 2009-02-10 17:42:00 I would say after 6 years the original poster had upgraded their computer. Wish these old threads could be locked gary67 (56)

177456 2009-04-15 19:10:00 update

Intel i7 965
GTX 295 quad Sli
Intel X58 motherboard
12 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1333 MHz
Sony Full HD 19" widescreen LCD Monitor

These will be sufficient to run crysis at max settings above 100 fps.

177457 2009-04-15 19:39:00 None of this was available 6 years ago gary67 (56)
177458 2009-04-15 21:22:00 It is a good timeline of computer parts over the years from what people thought was good at that time.

In 6 years people will look at saiyanajay's configuration there and wonder how anything actually run on it.

Maybe a prediction for what might be available in 6 years time.
Blu-Ray, Wireless-N, 32Bit anything, LCD Screens, Hard Drives inside the computer will all be just a distant memory.

I find it funny you're only giving it a 19" screen...

177460 2009-04-15 23:40:00 This thead was an interesting read that's for sure...

Saw an HP laptop someone picked up from a whiteware retailer for $1599 with 2GB ram, 2ghz dual core, 320Gb HDD, HDMI and a Blu-Ray drive. Even though it will more than likely fail 2 months out of warranty, it's a good buy. :p

I thought old threads were being locked now?

177461 2009-04-16 01:19:00 I thought old threads were being locked now?

They are, but because saiyanajay's post was inside the 3 months after that was implemented, this thread is yet to be locked :(
