177443 2003-09-24 13:25:00 Me too.

I already have my dream machine.

If I was going to do an update then it would be for a bigger.. better Graphic card. Why? I don't know.

I don't know as I'm not into serious gaming but my flight sims and Links Golf work for me

At the moment I have a Soltek Motherboard with RAID capability. SATA on board and fitted with an AMD 2800+ CPU. I have 1 Gig RAM and twin 120 Gig Seagate IDE Drives.

I of these Seagate drives is removable and I Ghost one to the other and remove elsewhere as a backup.

I also have a CDWriter for backup and I'm thinking about a DVD Writer as well for backup.

For unlimited money I'd buy a Cray... Not sure what I'd do with it but I'd sure have fun playing!!! :-)

AMD or P4 CPU????? ATI or Nvidia GFX cards????? what HDD??? what memory???? HDD etc.........

Do people want the best of the best PC???? or do they go for something affordable.

Just curious in what people think :-)

177452 2003-09-27 09:25:00 At the mo, I use 3 P4's . 1 P4B (this 1) with 1gb ram (SDR tho) . built in USB 1 . 1 (and a USB 2 card) . A 7 port usb hub and a 8 port ethernet are connected to it for the network, and a webcam/digital cam . The built in soundcard sucked so replaced it with a Leadtek (I think) 6 channel card, which came with a SPDIF bracket, with the TOS in/out and RCA in/out connections . And an LG burner / CDRW

The other 2 are a 2 . 4 533 cpu and mobo, (Asus P4Sx-x), with 512 DDR ram atm . Builtin LAN and USB 2 . And SPDIF out

The new one I've just made, is an ASUS P4P800 (non-deluxe) with 512 DDR atm, 8 usb 2, lan (10/100/1000) a 2 . 4 800 mhz CPU with HT . 120 GB SATA, (2 sata connections), an 80 GB hdd partitioned into 2 partitions, An Asus 128 mb AGP 8x videocard, 52x Asus CDRW, and a Asus 16x DVD . With a 17 " Viewsonic monitor .
And SPDIF out .

And a 4 port firewire PCI card . And in about 2 weeks, an Asus
DRW-0402P/D DVD burner .

. asus . com/products/optical/drw-0402P-d/overview . htm" target="_blank">www . asus . com

I use a digital vidcam mainly on this 1 for video editing .
