| 1347755 | 2013-07-02 10:07:00 | If you are referring to the factory default / Restore, as when the PC was first purchased, use the inbuilt HP restore . This will wipe all data as well as programs installed by yourself . It will also remove all updates . Dont advise using windows 8 recovery options on a Name Brand PC like HP - Take it from experience - it can screw things up nicely, as HP have some "weird" setups which W8 will destroy . (thankfully I had a image of the whole drive and HP Partitions before trying W8 restore) :waughh: |

| 1347757 | 2013-07-02 10:31:00 | HP tools will be on the HP site for the model of the laptop. If you want it. This will only show you some info (after you reboot, press esc then press F2 (well thats how you run it on the netbook here) Yup probably be better if you restore it using HP's menu (wherever this is). Its probably a function key after you reboot |

| 1347759 | 2013-07-02 10:53:00 | If HP came with Win7 but you've subsequently upgraded it yourself to Win8, could you still access that tool  Doesn't a new OS overwrite that hotkey when it redoes the boot sector. IME my Thinkpad did that. The HP Win7 files may still lie in a hidden partition. When it boots up doesn't it normally show a special hotkey that you press to activate it? Or there is a special HP key? The Thinkpad has a Thinkpad (?) button the top left of the keyboard. |

Still thanks for the help guys, I appreciate it. Interesting that Windows 7 is still there, I assumed that it would have been wiped! |
