Not sure wether it is more economic for me to buy an iPhone overseas and bring it back or to simply buy one in NZ. What is the cheapest option? |

Heh, its not me wanting to buy one. a friend of mine wants some advice but i haven't really been able to find much.
I'm guessing that if you were to buy it overseas you would have to pay full price then bring it over here and get it on a plan, seems like it would just be cheaper to get it cheap on a plan in NZ. |

There is not much if any discount by getting at a parallel importer that you get with Androids. My understanding is that even in HKG it might be similar, the ones I know in Japan are like that and most people don't buy phones, they sign up for contracts, actually over there prepay is quite foreign. |

Overseas if you're actually visiting another country, will take a bit more effort and you'll need to do your research. If you aren't leaving the country your probably better off buying locally. You can try to import but you'll be stung by some hefty fees upon the phone arriving in NZ. |
