1347644 2013-07-01 07:25:00 Hey recently i was thinking looking at laptop , since i bought it a few years ago , it can with pre installed software , so i kept on installing programs , like avast , cc cleaner , itunes . The problem is the battery life is not very good , maybe up to two hours of browsing web and doing some tasks on pc . So is there any good ,effective software which can help identify and clear it out , i looked at pc decrapifier , not sure if it is good , so yeah please state in comments which programc can help , and removing this will or will not cause changes like i mean i get better battery , if not then will have to look and inside processors running , hope im in right direction .

Thanks

1347645 2013-07-01 07:31:00 I think think uninstalling programs will fix a battery, if it goes flat too fast, replace it

Post a hijackthis log, amd we'll see whats in startup / whats installed, and what you dont need

1347651 2013-07-01 20:11:00 Check task manager and see what your CPU usage is and whats using it when you are not doing anything. If it's very low you won't help your battery life by uninstalling anything but if something is constantly using some CPU % it might.
Typing this with one browser window open and task manager running my CPU is going between 0 and 1% and none of the background processes are registering more than .1 - .3 % - fairly insignificant.

1347652 2013-07-01 21:00:00 pc decrapifier , not sure if it is good

I haven't heard anything bad about it, but I have always done it manually anyway.
Whats wrong with a manual uninstall? Just go through your Remove Programs list in Control Panel, then run CCleaner etc.

1347653 2013-07-01 22:05:00 Ive used de-crapifier a few times. I just uninstall manually now .

Decrapifier just uninstalls in a batch process, & can get issues when 1 uninstall hasnt 100% finished & the next uninstall starts or uninstalls need to be
done in a particular order (eg some of the HP crap)

I dont think this will solve your batt life issue though.
Just how many years old is it. It may need a new batt, although 2 hours on batt doesnt seem too bad for a less than new laptop.
