1323377 2013-01-17 21:08:00 I heard a rumour last night that the recently restored de Havilland Mosquito was going to partake in a flyover above Wellington today at noon.

I cannot find anything on-line to confirm this rumour.

Does anyone know for sure if this is going to happen?

I want to get out there and take some photographs :)

1323380 2013-01-17 21:46:00 Sorry, I'll be taking photographs (digital) - not video.

I'll post one or two if they turn out any good :)

1323384 2013-01-18 02:19:00 Just called Wellington Control Tower.

Flyover scheduled for 12.10pm comprising Spitfire, Mustang and Mosquito.

Woo woo :) :)

The third plane turned out to be a Kittyhawk, not a Mustang (unless there were four and the Mustang was out of sight of the video camera).

1323385 2013-01-18 04:26:00 I live in Franklin and have been privileged to see the Mosquito fly over about four times and have also seen it on the North Shore a couple of weeks ago. It has such a wonderful sound, pure concentrated power. You have to be fast to see it as well, it just eats up the sky. Haven't managed a photo yet( larger than a small dot) PPp (9511)
1323386 2013-01-18 05:22:00 You wouldn't believe it. I thought I was picking a great site up on the hill above the Stadium to take my photos.

Normally it would have been great - except these guys decided that their flight path would be directly over my head :(

Still, some shots are better than none :)

And as John H so rightly pointed out, the Mustang turned out to be a Kittyhawk.
