1323334 2013-01-17 19:42:00 Hopefully someone here can help with this.

How do you use the autopilot to fly into the range of the localizer for an ils approach? Any aircraft is fine. I was going to use VFR or IFR but found without a joystick and throttle, that i still haven't got around to purchasing, It's kind of hard. So if someone could please tell me which nav freqencies I needed and how to use them that would be great. Maybe the departure could be KHAF and end at KSFO or KLAX.

Thanks.

1323338 2013-01-18 01:23:00 Thanks for that Trev, I managed to get to the airport but I tried locking onto the localizer and glideslope but I just ended up passing it  stratex5 (16685)
1323339 2013-01-18 05:01:00 Buy FSX as it has some ILS tutorials that you can do. Flight Gear is rubbish.

That was a lil' harsh don't you think?

And sadly none of my friends have fsx, infact most of my friends don't have their own pc. I will look into getting FSX soon. Also purchasing a joystick a throttle. Can anyone recommend a good joystick and throttle (preferably 4 engine) that is sub $700?

1323343 2013-01-18 11:26:00 If you are going to be serious about it you will need something like this

www.saitek.com

www.chproducts.com

Once you have used one, you will never go back to a joystick.
