Apparently you can get the old CS2 products for free now. I have not downloaded and verified this, however.

This thread might help. It pretty much shows that they are free, and there's nothing stopping anyone from using them, and there is nothing "illegal" in using them either.

There may be nothing stopping anyone downloading and using them, but if you don't own it already then I am not sure it is not illegal.

1323198 2013-01-18 00:45:00 May or may not be technically illegal - Adobe has specifically said it's only for licensed users, but not in a particularly clear manner on the page itself. You could argue you thought it was okay because you weren't told clearly enough that it's not.

If you care about what's ethically appropriate rather than what's technically legal, I think it's obvious that Adobe isn't giving you this stuff unless you're licensed, so IMO it's unethical. Of course that's only relevant if you care about that sort of stuff.

1323199 2013-01-18 00:59:00 Considering how old the programs are and their lack of support for newer operating systems I think it's safe to say they are no longer profitable, could be half-classed as abandonware even.

Downloading them without a prior licence is probably less unethical than pirating the latest versions, although the net result is the same, you have not paid for either product, so to their bottom line it makes no difference.
