1323061 2013-01-16 05:48:00 I've had this on my hard drive for a while and thought you may be interested ...

A TAP Portugal A320-214 aircraft landing at Lajes, Azores, in a strong crosswind!

The starboard undercarriage is stressed to the max, and look how close the wing is to the runway ...

1323063 2013-01-16 07:05:00 That would be just a normal day at work for the Wellington pilots, wouldn't it? :p

Have you ever posted details of any of your exciting piloting experiences WalOne? Would be keen to read them.

Never thought about it ... I've had a few exciting such events, but there's much more that could be contributed by some of our flying regulars.

Aviators call recall of piloting experiences "Hangar Flying" - what most flyers indulge in after a hard day in the office (read training, flight examinations, the boredom of the passing scenery at FL310), mixed with a reasonable amount of liquor, BS and increasingly exciting recollections of acts of superb skill and leadership.

Until these are brought to a sudden stop. Hopefully not against the side of a mountain, but usually by retirement, lack of sponsored fun flying - i.e. Air force when it has the funds to do so - lack of $$$$, or the arrival of a SWMBO.

Stay posted ... that's food for thought :)

1323067 2013-01-16 08:01:00 No conveyor belts were harmed in the making of that landing. R2x1 (4628)
1323068 2013-01-16 08:54:00 No, not the conveyor belt again. Whenu (9358)
1323069 2013-01-16 09:27:00 Not again; still.

It's an endless belt you see. ;)
