1322894 2013-01-15 07:04:00 YouShop looks like a great service, but the sites I want to buy from require an american credit card as well as a american postal address.
Chilling Silence: How did you get an American credit card for ordering the Nexus phones?

1322895 2013-01-15 07:13:00 Some of the freight re-direction companies in the States will also buy on your behalf items (assisted purchase), have it delivered to their address and then re-post to NZ. This gets around having an American credit card and postal address.

I'm not sure which one Chill used, but ship2u.co.nz/ and http: are two examples.

Here's their assisted purchase details:

1322896 2013-01-15 09:37:00 You can just use your normal credit card, the address isn't usually checked, that's what I did. Just put down the details of your shipping forwarding company :p Chilling_Silence (9)

That's so naughty!

But it is smart, resourceful, and more!

Really? I thought they were way more expensive than other existing services.

Great service and assisted purchase available if required. Personally, I haven't come across an American site that won't take your money ... they've gotta pay back the Chinese somehow ... :D

Can also try PayPal if they your credit card is not accepted.

1322903 2013-01-17 07:53:00 My friend & I occasionally play Magic: The Gathering & he was after some cards he can't find in NZ, but they were part of a really cheap deck pack that Wizards of the Coast will only let stores sell to Americans. I recalled the youshop service & thought it was the perfect way to bend the rules, but you need both an American shipping address and an American credit card in order to purchase restricted products. Every now & then I encounter some stupid rule like that & it is very frustrating because there is often a 100% markup applied by the time it gets to NZ (assuming you can find a NZ supplier) Greven (91)
