1322834 2013-01-15 04:32:00 Is it just me or do others also get dropped/missing sentences when using closed captions on TV3's digital channel? It doesn't happen on the analogue channel nor on TV1 and TV2's digital channels. FoxyMX (5)
1322835 2013-01-15 22:25:00 Might be worth flicking TV3 an email and see if there have been other complaints. :) Jen (38)
1322836 2013-01-16 03:30:00 Thanks Jen but did that a while ago. They didn't bother replying. :( FoxyMX (5)
1322837 2013-01-16 05:23:00 TV3 does close captioning?

I have only ever got the subtitles on 1 and 2.

Which shows on 3 have it?

1322838 2013-01-16 05:39:00 If you're talking about Sky digital, according to the SKy site

Closed Captions are not available for TV3 when viewing in HD at this stage. Altho can't say I've ever seen them on freeview , using this receiver either

"The Block" is on right now and that is captioned . Many, but not all, of the evening programmes are captioned .

No, not Sky . The digital version of free-to-air TV3, same as TV1 and TV2 . I don't know what they are talking about if they say that CC is not available for TV3 in HD . The captions are there but they aren't consistently "complete" . Maybe that is what they mean?

1322840 2013-01-18 17:05:00 On the satellite feed of Freeview I find that TV One subtitles often drop a character off the end. The ones on TV3 use DVB subtitles rather than the Teletext subtitles that TVNZ use. So look and behave differently. it may depend on the receiver used. But I also find subtitles on TV3 Freeview satellite get out of sequence and skip. apsattv (7406)
1322841 2013-01-18 21:31:00 That is interesting apsattv, thanks for your reply. I am not familiar with the different technologies used for the captions so wasn't aware that they are different for TV3. At least I know that I am not the only one having this issue. It would be good if they were able to resolve it as there are a lot of people in NZ who rely on subtitles. FoxyMX (5)
1322842 2013-01-20 06:00:00 I've never been able to get subtitles working on any channel with my Sommet SHDNZ1 receiver. Maybe it got offended by the high quality Japanese capacitors I put in the PSU?

Teletext and subtitles still work great on the old analog TV tuner.

I don't care much though.

1322843 2013-01-21 04:45:00 Does Freeview have captions? I've never noticed any option to display captions. Could be due to UHF version? goodiesguy (15316)
