Chill didn't specify NZ, FWIW, he said 2) Child abuse / family violence is highest in male same sex marriages, higher than heterosexual marriages. Again female + female relationships have the lowest known abuse / violence rates (This is relatively consistent regardless of ethnicity too). It seems the common denominator is males that cause all the issues, regardless of if they're gay or straight. Family violence is about the same regardless of relationship type, according to the study I posted. Hence, refuting that claim. Apprently the rates differ slightly for lesbians in dating vs committed relationships, but not for gay men in dating vs committed relationships. ...and yes, of course, you're right. For NZ, the rate of violence in same-sex marriages is nil, because no marriages, but I think it's worth pointing out that lesbian and gay relationhips are basically the same as heterosexual ones when it comes to the icky side. :-/ |

Those child abuse / violence stats were for NZ as well as abroad, they were pretty consistent. The divorce stats NZ is a bit higher than the average for most countries I believe. From chills post, yes he did specify NZ, but I can see how you might have missed it |

From another site: child abuse and domestic violence already exist, in large quantities, in heterosexual relationships…all the time Marriage equality will not cause what already exists, and this has nothing to do with sensible sentencing So why not do something to stop that - they cant, its nothing to do with same sex relations .
