1323698 2013-01-21 04:40:00 It is not really appropriate for a moderator to be telling a forum member that their their head was up their ass. Setting an example and all that kind of thing....

And you're not supposed to voice your opinions on religion, either, apparently.

For some reason I'm not supposed to say that I think religion is rubbish and yet there are many religious people who would be happy to tell me that my beliefs in evolution are a pack of lies, that science is all wrong, and that the world is only 5000 years old, and so forth.

Well, actually, no. You're welcome to say what your beliefs are, but given that this thread is not about religion, it would be nice if you could be considerate. If you'd said "I think religion is rubbish", that would be one thing. you said "Religion is rubbish" - do you not think that might look a little inflammatory? And more importantly, do you not think saying it that way might derail the thread being about gay marriage? I was merely trying to head things off at the pass. I'll defend atheists copping flack in appropriate threads, believe me.

Back to the topic, thanks - which is not about Chill, or about religion's worthiness or unworthiness. Cheers!

So, "I think someone is gay" is ok, but "someone is gay" is not. Just cheking

1323703 2013-01-21 04:55:00 On the stats, rates of domestic violence appear the same whether lesbian, gay, or heterosexual couples are studied. the only difference found by cross-comparins numerous studies seems to be that violence in lesbian relationships seems to be at the milder end of the scale. source: www.rohrbaughassociates.net

Yet to find something regarding child abuse...

The thread was about someone's outrageous comments that gay marriage causes crime. See OP. :)

This isn't the thread for checking plod, but you'll note that I don't delete if things are fine/borderline, I just mention in thread that things are meandering. Neither of those phrases is particularly troublesome, though I can imagine circumstances where they might be - eg saying ""I think prefect is gay"is less inflammatory than "prefect is gay"but neither is on topic in a thread about, say, the All Blacks latest victory, and would take it off topic... clearer? You want any more detail, take it to PMs.

I was attempting to help you refute chill's claim about family violence in same-sex marriages. I'm happy to delete it and leave you to it, if you'd rather?

1323707 2013-01-21 05:11:00 I was attempting to help you refute chill's claim about family violence in same-sex marriages. I'm happy to delete it and leave you to it, if you'd rather?as there are no same sex marriages in NZ yet, I find its going to be hard for chill to back his claim. After all that's what the thread and chills comments were about. But leave your post there, plod (107)
