1347654 2013-07-02 00:08:00 Check task manager and see what your CPU usage is and whats using it when you are not doing anything. If it's very low you won't help your battery life by uninstalling anything but if something is constantly using some CPU % it might.
Typing this with one browser window open and task manager running my CPU is going between 0 and 1% and none of the background processes are registering more than .1 - .3 % - fairly insignificant.

Hey dugimodo , looking at it , it is the CPU shows a graph with a result over 5% and it keeps on increase as per second , like 6% , 7% , 8% with two tabs open in chrome , when three tabs open it jumps to "sometimes" over 20% but the ram jumps to lower the cpu usage . So it is like 1.86GB of ram used and CPU is around 9% (3 tabs ) open . So hope it make sense , if something u find is wrong please write in comments , and by the way my pc is hp dv6 and it is 64bits , i7 . I havent tried internet explorer , might do later if required . Thanks

1347655 2013-07-02 00:12:00 Ive used de-crapifier a few times . I just uninstall manually now .

Decrapifier just uninstalls in a batch process, & can get issues when 1 uninstall hasnt 100% finished & the next uninstall starts or uninstalls need to be
done in a particular order (eg some of the HP crap)

I dont think this will solve your batt life issue though .

My laptop is about 2 years old , and i was thinking that too 2 hours isnt that bad , but would like if anyway could boost it .
Just how many years old is it . It may need a new batt, although 2 hours on batt doesnt seem too bad for a less than new laptop .

Thanks

1347660 2013-07-02 02:39:00 Hey speedy thnx for the look , now I know youre right but programs like HP Support Framework, HP Support Assistant specially assistant are good programs , since they help make your pc stable and in good condition . I think that's not the cause , the cause you said are -

O4 - HKLM\ . . \Run: [NUSB3MON] "C:\Program Files (x86)\Renesas Electronics\USB 3 . 0 Host Controller Driver\Application\nusb3mon . exe"

O4 - Global Startup: Bluetooth . lnk = ?

O4 - Global Startup: Snapfish PictureMover . lnk = C:\Program Files (x86)\PictureMover\Bin\PictureMover . exe

So should I disable them or what , I believe out of of these I will definteley delete the snapfish which I don't need it and not sure about others since I don't think cause problems . Ohh and yeah im writing this post using internet explorer rather than chrome , and believe me internet explorer is taking a huge amount of ram like 2 . 17gb with 2 tabs open , I noticed chrome does better at this .

So yeah what should I do , I know I may be wrong ???

No they don't, they do the exact opposite ;) pcuser42 (130)
1347662 2013-07-02 03:29:00 Use ccleaner and disable the startup entries under tools/startup. Ccleaner's registry option is ok, but it can remove valid entries in the registry. So, be careful if you use it / what you remove

If you think you need HP Support Framework, and HP Support Assistant keep them. I use an HP netbook here, there are downloads for these, but IMO they're a waste of space. It's stable without them. And I wont be installing them.

Well I wouldnt use chrome, its too intrusive. And installs a lot of crap that spies on you

+1

The HP password assistant (I forgot exactly what its called) can cause all sorts of issues with its popups, actually can sometimes make it impossible to enter passwords .
To get rid of that you need to remove all sorts of HP Crapware 1st .
HP/Tosh/Acer/etc branded Wifi managers never work any better than the built in windows wifi manager/assistant, so just why do they stick those in?
The HP/Tosh/Acer/etc automated software/driver updaters often dont work.
The HP splash screen/wallpaper historically caused slowdowns trying to remote access PC's, & needed a registry setting changed to get rid of it.

Some of this will just be spyware, & will be phoning home to HP/Tosh/Acer/etc . At least one printer company was caught out with their printer software phoning home with all sorts of info about what was being printed .
