1347470 2013-07-01 00:20:00 Thanks for that additional information which is very helpful. I suspect that I have read about the unreliability of wireless printing.
This printer doesn't have ethernet.

1347471 2013-07-01 00:22:00 Well I used an USB Cable and everything seemed to be ok. It detected my SSID ok but when I try to print wirelessly it tells me my printer is off line.
Still something not quite right, but I'll get there in the end.

Look in devices and printers, if there's an WS option select it / make it the default printer. On mine its called Canon MX430 series Printer WS. The WS means wireless. Then it should be online so you can print to it

I take it, whatever youre trying to print from does have a wifi adapter on it?? The computer needs to have wireless as well. Not just the printer and the modem/router

I don't have that option.

Not just the printer and the modem/routerI must admit I did try to print from my desktop but quickly realized that it didn't have wireless. Tried from my Samsung tablet and that tells me that it will only print to a Samsung Printer. Now playing around with me Asus Netbook. the only other thing I could try is my Ipod Touch. The printer is working fine with USB so i may not worry about wireless, but it seems a bit silly to have a wirelss printer and not use it. I'll get there in the end.

1347473 2013-07-01 04:05:00 The printer I think supports airprint, so should work with Ipads / maybe Touches. But it has to have the right version of the firmware on it (to support airprint). You have to get the file (for airprint) from the Canon site.

You have to connect the cable as well (so it can check) whether the right firmware is on it. With Win7 (I think I had to do this when I had it) You open network and printer icons appeared here, (pic attached), I had to click on one of them then right mouse / install

This is what you should see under devices and printers (pic1). The one thats ticked is the default printer

If you need help put teamviewer on the PC (once you install a wireless adapter), and I'll help you out
