In saying that though... the woman at my office who are also meant to be wearing 'business attire' but most look like they are ready for a BBQ at the beach! I *have* to wear a business shirt, pants and shoes (leather + summer = bad for the nose after work! Just ask SWMBO) where as my female co-workers can wear their nice breazy flowing dresses / skirts, jandals / sandals and an almost see through blouse!? Note: Not saying I want to wear a dress... or do I ;) |

| 1323181 | 2013-01-17 20:52:00 | Yes, lordnoddy, I do agree. Men have to wear formal attire with at least a tie whereas women, it seems, have a free reign. It does seem very unfair and sexist. | Roscoe (6288) | ||

Or the equivalent, not fluffy dresses and see through tops. Point it out if they complain. I would. |

| 1323186 | 2013-01-20 05:55:00 | I don't think there's anything wrong with them aesthetically, I do think some look good. But I have never worn one and I don't intend to, to my mind they are nothing more than a great way to get yourself strangled in an accident. |

How about a bit of passive-aggressive rebellion? Put it on when asked but tie it badly. Make sure it's not hanging straight. Undo your top button (and make sure the tie is loosely tied - and askew) and tell them you have a skin condition that precludes the top button from being done up. Put it on so the skinny bit is to the front. In all of the above you will be complying with the request to wear your tie.... |
