I notice she never had a go at Walone for post #87 which was over the top.

Yeah that was pretty harsh, especially towards a Mod...

1323751 2013-01-22 01:51:00 Let us invert the argument.

Increasing crime has led to decrease in respect for person and property, with corresponding reduction in moral standards and social behaviour (difficult to measure objectively), along with a greater tolerance to petty crime and yahoo behaviour, and with an increased issuance of wet bus tickets.

Here the argument can branch into two.

One branch goes along the lines that on the whole, people are getting more fearful as the social structure deteriorates, and so they console themselves by eating more....hence the rising obesity, which of course the fat people deny is their own fault.
There is quite a good correlation between obesity and crime in the western world.

The other branch of the argument says that as morals and social structure have declined due to the rising crime rate, and the larger number of wet bus tickets in circulation, so tolerance to social behaviours considered scandalous or criminal in the past has increased....eg decriminalisation of homosexual acts between consenting adults, 'rough trade', civil unions and 'marriage' between homosexuals, and now child adoption by homosexuals.
;)

What did I miss? *goes to look*

I didn't even see that post. It looks a little like humour to me. and I'll note that I told people to report things earlier in the thread - nobody reported it. Are you reporting it?

And the "for" side can also be boring, but mostly, they've been expanding on various points rather than repeating over and over "well I think X" as though it's news to us.

1323753 2013-01-22 02:25:00 Eh I thought it was kind of amusing, though the guy is way too fat to be me personally.

That and my pasty skin looks awful in white, never really been my color...

1323754 2013-01-22 02:27:00 I think he (Garth) is 100% correct. Its just another nail in the coffin of Western decadence.

I agree...changing the law to allow same-sex marriage will be yet another erosion of basic morals and values in society which have led to an escalation of child abuse, domestic violence, and an ever-increasing prison population.

As society has relaxed its tolerance on single parent families, we have had a steady increase in domestic violence and crime all stemming from the break down of the original family unit.....IMHO....We reap what we sow!

1323755 2013-01-22 02:29:00 Where is the proof that gays are criminals. The only criminal I see is Garth McVicar trying to tell people that he is right and everybody else is wrong.

Wow, miss the point much?

1323756 2013-01-22 02:32:00 Religious panic.

I know a gay couple...they have 3 kids, 1 boy, 2 girls. Mum and her partner.

They share custody with the other gay couple - the father and his partner. (No, use your imagination how they arranged it)

Kids are happy, parents are happy - all 4 of them, everyone's happy.

Grandparents are happy.
Kids think nothing of it, they treat it like any other bunch of kids visiting a divorced dad.
No-one has resorted to crime, all work and own their own houses etc....all just like other people.

I doubt if they were suddenly able to marry anything would change.
Sorry PCTek, but your story is only half written, you are talking about kids that havent matured yet...And the studies I have read about gay children upbringing are not happy ones.

1323757 2013-01-22 02:36:00 Get with the year 2013 Prefect. I don't care what happened in Texas in the 1800s. And to suggest Females being allowed to be gay and Males is not only contradicting but down right disgraceful.

Proven fact is that a high % of homophobics are actually gay themselves... just sayin...

BK T... owned lol! Nuff said.

In regards to marrage - either way doesn't effect my life in the slightest! Only possibility would be if my sister and her CUP (Civil Union Partner) decide to change their CU to a Marrage at which time I'll be invited and I *will* attend, not because I agree with it but because I love my Sister and my Sister-in-law.
Sorry bud, but thats just the catch phase friends of Dorothy use to rile hetersexual men who are homophobic.
