But I believe we're in the year 2013 now.... 1913 is a *long* time ago. NOTE: If anyone can tell me how this will directly effect their life I'm all ears... |

However it seems to me that many if not most posters don't seem to have read what the original link said what Garth McVicar is reported as having said. He did not directly say as Plod seems to think that "Gay marriage leads to crime", or even as the stuff headline says "Lobbyist links gay marriage to crime rise in NZ" He appears to be saying that the law to allow same sex marriage will lead to further erosion of basic morals and values in society, and then goes on to link the decline in morals and erosion of the traditional family with increased social problems and crime. The discussion should be around whether same sex marriage leads to diminishing morals and social structure. From my point of view, I could make a better case for a correlation between rising rates of obesity and rising crime rates :) |
