1322851 2013-01-15 01:39:00 Anyone got any other tips or tricks to share .

This one's not really a "tip" per se – it certainly won't make you more productive – but it's a fun easter egg hidden inside Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean .

If you've got a phone running Android 4 . 0 or higher, head into Settings and click "About phone" at the bottom of the list . On the next page, start tapping the "Android version" button (you have to do five or six very quick taps) .

In Ice Cream Sandwich you'll see the familiar Android robot wearing an ice cream sandwich getup . Press and hold, and it'll explode, releasing tiny flying clones across your screen .

In Jelly Bean you'll see, well, a Jelly Bean . Press and hold and you'll get a screen of floating jelly beans which can be dragged around . Useful? Nah . Endearing? Absolutely! :D

I miss not being able to use the spacebar twice for the full stops on desktops .

1322852 2013-01-15 02:01:00 You can get 3rd party keyboards that allow you to do that quite easily. I think that it may even be a configurable setting on stock keyboard?

I've been putting a few things up on my Blog for all my friends and family who've just got the Nexus 4, they'd certainly classify as useful "tips and tricks"!

What device are you running ?

I'll have a look at your blog after work.

1322854 2013-01-15 07:28:00 I'm not sure if the S3 has a coloured LED, but Chill's guide to notifications using Light Flow is great! No need to wake up the screen to see if you have messages or any sort of notifications. I've got my battery status set up to trigger the red LED when at 20% and again a green LED when fully charged. 1322856 2013-01-15 14:58:00 IMO - Swype (beta) is the best damn keyboard ever! Once you give yourself time to learn to swype and it starts to learn your movements it's great http://www.swype.com/

Typo clock free - very nice typographic clock play.google.com

Novalauncher play.google.com - My fav feature is the fact you can scroll the bottom part of the home screen launcher, I have messages/app drawer/internet set up and if I sweep across I get my phone and contacts. I prefer this since it keeps my screen tidy and also makes it harder to accidentally dial.

PowerToggles in the notification bar - play.google.com Essential for those who's ROM doesn't include them. The stock samsung ones do (have the toggles built in) I was surprised at how much I missed them when I installed supernexus. Sadly I can't find a power toggles app that will not use a space in the notifications bar or allow long pressing on the icon to reach the specific settings, I think it requires some kernel/ROM embedding to do that. (I set the icon to transparent so it doesn't annoy me) pressing the settings button to get into settings is just as easy as a long press though.

That's all I can think of now that would be good for everyone... no tips and tricks though. I'm too boring for that :)

1322857 2013-01-15 20:27:00 It does .

That I'm aware of it's a standard blue blinker? (SWMBO has one)

Any ideas if LighFlow changes this?

1322858 2013-01-15 21:12:00 A quick Google indicates it should be supported :) Chilling_Silence (9)

The S3's LED is capable of red, green and blue.
